The one she had always played with broke his

silence, humbled himself and apologized.

He regretted the hurtful words that he had

spoken and bared his heart out.

He was truly sorry.

And she saw beyond the man, a soul that had

been badly wounded since a tender age.

And her heart ached.

Badly.

Perhaps the other she was right.

She cared too much that it affected almost all

the decisions she were to make in life.

She knew from an early age that she was

always in a better position.

She remembered how the one who always

played with her would often end up in tears,

how he was punished for anything and

everything and how she was often allowed

“scot-free”.

The stark differences often leave her feeling bad

and her young mind could never understand

why it had happened like that.

So she made the decision never to abuse the

privileges that she had and never to let the

playmate feel the way he felt with others.

If she didn’t have a voice to fight for the

playmate and the position to protect him, the

very least she could do was to always give in.

So she did.

But perhaps it did little to help make things

better. Perhaps it was only good to appease the

guilt from within. She felt responsible.

No matter how hard going, she would just keep

silence and still give in…her playmate was

hurting, she couldn’t feel any better. The

more she did better, the greater the difference

and the worse he felt.

And the words between them became fewer and

fewer.

It has been years…

And she often questions herself, why things

have become so bad and she could only visit

memory lane just to remember the warm smiles

and the loud laughter of her playmate?

Her playmate was no longer the same.

But he still matter that much to her.

He apologized.

And she heard things that were never spoken.

And it has been long since she cried this much.

Her life is better not because she is better.

Her life is better because of Jesus.

And her heart ached.

Badly.

Tonight,

The truth told…

The wall crumbled down…

The stone in her heart lifted up…

Tonight,

She is set free.

Wash away the years of sorrow…

so let the healing begin…

so let restoration come…

so let reconciliation happen…

For years, she has cried numerous and

numerous  times for her playmate to be blessed.

She speaks into existence…

He will be blessed.

In Jesus’ name.
